New indium phosphide integrated circuits will soon be available for the new satellite and terrestrial broadband systems planned for 60-to-90-GHz range and for new frequencies opneing up above 100-GHz. TRW Space and Electronic Systems. is building a 4-inch indium phosphide wafer line at its Redondo Beach, Calif., headquarters to sell the chips on the commercial market.
Hyundai secures $650 million in new bank loans

Hyundai Electronic Industries Co. on Friday took the first step in its financial restructuring by obtaining $650 million in new bank loans to pay off short-term bonds coming due in the next year. Hyundai had hoped to recycle its large short-term debt into longer term loans, but the latest financing must be paid back in one to two years.
