California Micro Devices has developed a new family of packaged Centurion Application Specific Integrated Passive (ASIP) electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter arrays that feature high-performance EMI filtering and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection in a small 0.4-mm pitch TDFN package, which is about a 42% space savings compared to existing 0.5-mm pitch TDFN packages.

International Rectifier's new DirectFET chipset is designed to maximize DC/DC bus converter efficiency. When used with IR's recently announced IR2086S full-bridge bus-converter IC, the chip set enables a solution that can deliver 336 watts with 97 percent efficiency in a footprint that's about 30 percent smaller than a traditional quarter-brick converter, according to the company.

AVX Corp. has developed an extended range tantalum capacitor series that offers additional high capacitance/voltage (CV) ratings in smaller case sizes than previously available. Designed specifically for military applications, the CWR19 and CWR29 capacitors are mil-qualified up to failure rates of B and C. These devices may also be used in harsh environment applications such as space exploration and aerospace.
