Belgian research institute IMEC and lithography equipment vendor ASML Holding NV have agreed to install a full-field EUV pre-production tool, in IMEC's 300-mm research wafer fab in late 2005. An IMEC industrial affiliation program based around EUV, slated to start in 2006, would include access to this full-field EUV pre-production tool, the Leuven-based organization said.

Enprocessorsystemet har kört in i väggen. Det står vid det här laget helt klart. Den som vill ha högre prestanda måste ta steget över till flera processorkärnor och flera trådar per processor. Men samtidigt måste alla program ses över och ändras och det kommer att ge mycket stora problem.

Au troisième trimestre, le chiffre d’affaires du fondeur taiwanais United Microelectronics Corp. a progressé de 18,5 % par rapport au trimestre précédent, entraînant une augmentation record du résultat net. Tyco Electronics, a business segment of Tyco International Ltd., has introduced enhanced-design singlemode SC connectors that optimize performance on 1.6-mm to 2.0-mm cable. SC connectors were originally designed for 3.00-mm cable. These redesigned 1.6-mm SC connectors also incorporate a unique six-position tuning feature that optimizes fiber alignment and performance. The new connectors have been tested to Telcordia GR-326, Issue 3; Service Life-Part A, using standard match-cladding fiber.
