HONG KONG --- A survey of 900 design engineers from mainland China, Taiwan and other regional design hubs from India to Korea shows that communications systems development is the leading design activity in Asia but that computer and consumer electronics is strong in Taiwan, while China majors on industrial control and instrumentation.

SAN MATEO, Calif. — An add-on to Axis Systems Inc.'s Xtreme emulator, to be introduced at this week's DATE conference in Munich, Germany, aims to speed the hardware and software verification of system-on-chip designs based on the ARM processor core.

EDA tool vendor Axys Design Automation Inc. is due to announce today (March 3, 2003) the integration of the RealView Debugger from ARM Holdings plc, with its own MaxSim developer suite for multi-core debugging, simulation and verification.

BELFAST, Northern Ireland - Amphion Semiconductor Ltd. said Friday (February 28, 2003) that Dialog Semiconductor plc has licensed a circuit design from Amphion.
