Mitsubishi advances solar cell conversion efficiency

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has achieved photoelectric conversion efficiency rates of 18.0 percent in a 150mm square practical use multi-crystalline silicon solar cell. The company claims this is a 1.2 percent improvement over previous models and is the best conversion rate achieved to date in the industry.
