Optical communications company JDS Uniphase reported a GAAP net loss of $45.8 million, or 3 cents per share on sales of $318.2 million in its fiscal fourth 2006 quarter ended June 30. In the year-ago quarter, JDS Uniphase lost $145.7 million, or 10 cents per share on sales of $170.9 million.
