Check out this pair of handheld battery-operated analyzers for measuring cables and communications systems. They work from 2-MHz in the HF portion of the spectrum well into the microwave regime. Anritsu's cable and antenna analyzers can also pack an optional CW module for conducting long cable-loss measurements between out to 20 GHz, and a VNA option.

Lowering the entry cost for a PXI-based test system, National Instruments is rolling out a PXI chassis with integrated remote controller. The chassis provides five peripheral slots, and includes a host card to control the system from either a desktop or laptop. It can achieve up to 110-Mbytes/s sustained throughput to the PC host.

The law enforcement's agencies investigations in the Siemens bribery scandal indicate that also letterbox companies in the USA and the Virgin Islands have been involved. Since Siemens shares are traded at U.S. stock exchanges, it cannot be ruled out that the American Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could launch own investigations. The SEC could impose fines in the million dollar range or even revoke Siemens' listing in the USA.
