An upgraded version of the Synplify ASIC synthesis tool includes a ModGen module generation system that automatically generates the fastest possible operators or the smallest operators that meet timing, depending on the system application.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. - As expected Synopsys Inc. has opened up third-party access to its Milkyway design database. Customers and electronic design automation (EDA) tool vendors can now link their tools directly into the Milkyway environment through either a scripting language application programming interface (API) or a C-based API, the company said.

Ericsson redovisar en förlust på driften på 2,2 miljarder kronor för fjärde kvartalet; men lägger man till omstruktureringskostnader m m hamnar man på minus 8,1 miljarder kronor före skatt. Förväntningarna var att förlusten skulle stanna vid 6,5 miljarder kronor.
Kurt Hellström säger att han tror att man varit genom den svåraste perioden, men har ser ändå inga tecken på en uppgång.

Die Standardisierungs-Organisationen Frame-Relay-Forum und MPLS-Forum haben am 29. Januar ihre Fusion beschlossen. Sie werden in der neu gegründeten 'MPLS and Frame Relay Alliance' aufgehen. Die anlässlich einer Vorstandssitzung im kalifornischen Fremont bekannt gegebene Entscheidung ist die kleine Variante eines ehrgeizigen Plans des vergangenen Frühjahrs, ein "Layer 2 Forum" aus Unterstützern von ATM, DSL, Metropolitan Ethernet sowie MPLS und Frame-Relay zu gründen.

Von LeCroy gibt es jetzt mit dem WavePro 7100 (1 GHz) und dem WavePro 7300 (3 GHz) zwei neue Digital-Oszilloskope (DSO). Beide Geräte sind mit LeCroys X-Stream-Technologie und WaveShape-Analyse ausgestattet. Besonders interessant ist der Preis. So will LeCroy mit den neuen Oszilloskopen einen größeren Abnehmerkreis ansprechen als mit seinen WaveMaster-Topmodellen für Bandbreiten bis zu 6 GHz. Der WavePro 7100 wird 21.000 Dollar kosten, während der WavePro 7300 für 38.000 Dollar zu haben ist.
