China-Japan tensions may hurt tech firms

Rising tensions between China and Japan must be taken seriously and executives in the information technology industry should begin to diversify sourcing away from East Asia in case the dispute intensifies. So says a new report from research firm Gartner Inc. (Framingham, Mass.), which looks at the recent political standoff between the two nations-tensions not seen since the pair's bitter conflict during World War II.
