The three-month average of worldwide sales of semiconductors was $17.98 billion in June, a sequential decline of 0.5 percent from $18.05 billion in May and down from $18.14 billion in April, according to the European Semiconductor Industry Association.

In Erwartung weiter steigender Nachfrage nach NAND-Flash-Speicherbausteinen fährt Toshiba die Investitionen in seine Speicherfabrik in Yokkaichi hoch. Die Fertigungskapazität soll um 40 Prozent auf 30 000 Wafer pro Monat steigen.
