Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. claims its new VSMP1206 high-precision, surface-mount, Bulk Metal Z-foil resistor is the industry's first such device to combine a high power rating of 300 mW, load life stability of 0.01%, and a low nominal temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of ±0.5 ppm/°C in an industry-standard, surface-mount package.

New Scale Technologies Inc. has released a new vacuum-compatible version of its patent-pending mini ceramic SQUIGGLE motor for automating critical alignments in high-vacuum instruments without requiring mechanical feed-throughs or stepper motors. The new motors can be used for nanometer positioning in applications such as semiconductor manufacturing and testing, scanning electron microscopes, ion beam microscopes, and scanning ion mass spectrometers.

Ironwood Electronics' new high performance 10 GHz socket can accommodate 0.5-mm pitch, 11 x 11-mm body ICs such as the AMKOR MAF223 BGA, and arrays with up to 400 balls. The SG-BGA-7026 socket doesn't require solder or mounting holes for attachment, only a 1.25-mm perimeter space for the socket body on the target PC-board.
