Xilinx has raised the performance benchmark again by claiming that version 4.1 of its Web Power Tool provides 1 to 5 W lower power per FPGA in its Virtex-4 family.The company cited its 90nm triple-oxide technology, embedded IP and power-saving configuration circuitry to its 'lead' in low-power consumption.

In a sign the electronics industry may be in for more rough sledding, market research firm Gartner said in an analysts' meeting here Wednesday (March 23) that growth in semiconductor market will slow down to 2.1 percent in 2006 from a projected 3.6 percent this year.

Da die strukturierten Bauteile definitionsgemäß von vorneherein mit bestimmten funktionellen Ressourcen ausgerüstet sind, sind sie nicht universell einsetzbar. Kein Gerät kann alle Anforderungen des Markts erfüllen.
