M-LVDS receivers keep it safe with multi-level fault detection
Design How-To
3/30/2005   Post a comment
Designers have integrated LVDS devices into systems as diverse as wireless basestations, projection TVs, plain-paper copiers and handheld consumer electronics. But there is no standardized response to line fault conditions. Multi-drop LVDS receivers effectively detect open-circuits, short-circuits, line disconnects and disabled drivers. This failsafe approach works over the full input range of receiver, but requires some attention to clocking. A Texas Instruments' engineer shows how.
