Donald O. Pederson, one of the inventors of the Spice language and a Univeristy of California professor emeritus, died Dec. 25 from complications of Parkinson's disease. He was 79.

Revenues of the three largest EDA companies will probably decline for the fourth quarter of 2004, while bookings will be up, according to a report issued Thursday (Jan. 6) by Merrill Lynch analyst Jay Vleeschhouwer. The net result is "limited overall revenue and bookings progress," the report states.

Fu-Chieh Hsu, Président-directeur général (PDG) de Monolithic System Technology Inc. (MoSys), fournisseur de cœurs de propriété intellectuelle et d’autres produits, a annoncé, le vendredi 31 décembre, qu’il avait quitté la société à compter du 30 décembre 2004. Fu-Chieh Hsu, l’un des cofondateurs de l’entreprise, a invoqué ses récents problèmes de santé pour justifier sa démission.
