Semiconductor test solutions provider Credence Systems Corp. reported a net loss of $19.5 million, or 21 cents per share on sales of $101.9 million in the second fiscal 2005 quarter ended April 30, compared to a net loss of $36.3 million, or 41 cents per share on sales of $93.9 million the prior quarter.

A critical aspect of the receiver circuit decision process is ensuring that the "0-or-1" decision process occurs at an optimal time. Figures released Thursday (May 12th) by market researcher Prime Data show the instrument market growing after a long hiatus. After declining 57 percent for their peak sales level in 2000, declining in 2001, 2002 and showing no growth in 2003, test instrument sales grew by 12 percent in 2004 to approximately $6.5 billion. This the first positive growth for the test instrument market since it began to decline in 2001, said Galen Wampler, president of the Smartville, Calif. research firm.
