ON Semiconductor says its NCP5008 and NCP5009 white-LED drivers are among the first to accommodate external phototransistor feedback to provide automatic adjustment of LED brightness according to ambient light.

Intersil Corp.'s EL7513 high-frequency PWM step-up regulator is said to be capable of driving 12 LEDs while ensuring uniform brightness in white-LED backlighting applications.
