Solar cell shocks battery apps

Clare, Inc. touts its CPC1810, the first member of its new solar cell family, as a high output device that delivers a voltage ten times greater than traditional competing products. Indeed, the cell's output is sufficient to charge a battery directly, according to the company, which builds its photovoltaic device on the company's advanced silicon-on-insulator (SOI) technology.
