MALVERN, Pa. -- Vishay Intertechnology Inc. late today announced that it will acquire the infrared components business of Germany's Infineon Technologies AG for $120 million. Under the terms, Vishay will take over Infineon's development, marketing and distribution activities in the infrared space. Infineon's infrared components business is headquartered in San Jose.

WOBURN, Mass.--Alpha Industries Inc. today announced plans to cooperate with Munich-based Epcos AG in development of integrated switch/filter modules for wireless handsets. Alpha Industries will provide radio-frequency semiconductors while Epcos will supply surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters for a new series of modules.
