BeamExpress Inc. (Sunnyvale, Calif.), a producer of 10-Gbit/second optical transceivers and transponders originally based in Lausanne, Switzerland, has closed a $14.2 million funding round led by Oak Investment Partners.
Photonic IC startup raises $10.6 million investment

Alphion Corp. (Princeton Junction, New Jersey), a developer of photonic components based on monolithic integration of indium phosphide, has closed a third round of funding with an investment of $10.6 million. This brings the total company funding to $42.6 million, Alphion said.
