April 1 is traditionally a news day like no other, but some news from the test and measurement industry did appear.
National Instruments has announced that NIWeek 2014 will move from the Austin Convention Center to the football stadium at the University of Texas in Austin. "We're used to 100-degree temperatures, and we're far more comfortable outside."
Moving to an open-air venue offers possibilities never before available in the Frozen (I mean Austin) Convention Center. NI President Dr. James Truchard will reportedly take advantage of the open-air facility to make a grand entrance for his annual keynote address. He will enter the stadium on a 3D-printed helicopter controlled by a PXI chassis running LabVIEW.
