After adventures in DVD players, Cirrus Audio's CEO David French focuses the company on its heritage - audio products.
In a recent interview, Cirrus' CEO David French fessed up to a few miscues in product direction, and stated that Cirrus would return to its roots.
In the 1990s Cirrus had a virtual lock on the PC Audio space until a few competitors infringed fundamental Cirrus (Crystal Semi) patents. Crystal proucts were top notch and were the gold standard.
Cirrus prevailed in an audio patent lawsuit some years ago.
Now the company is redoubling its efforts in audio with a much broader technology base.
Good for French to own up to his mistakes, and better for Cirrus to return to audio. It's a tremendously complex field where Cirrus enginers can excell.
