From the "oscilloscope as entertainment" department comes "Youscope," a short film, complete with music soundtrack, that uses a sound card to animate images on an oscilloscope. It came in third place in the short film competition at the recent ASSEMBLY 2007 computer festival in Finland:
The creator, a fifteen-year-old, wrote a C program to generate the waveforms. The oscilloscope was connected to a PC soundcard in X/Y-mode, with the right channel connected to the X input and the left to Y.
