Here's a treat - an amazingly detailed illustration (see below) depicting the "hi-fi" of the 1950s by cartoonist/illustrator Roy Doty. This illustration appeared in the "Records" feature in the April 15th, 1958 issue of Look Magazine and incorporates all manner of hi-fi and test equipment of that time period (click on the image to enlarge it).

Roy Doty's illustrations have appeared in various formats for over forty years, and include the Wordless Workshop series of syndicated cartoons, which appeared in Popular Science and the The Family Handyman Magazine.
