One of my favorite sources for quotes happens to be The Devil's Dictionary by Ambrose Bierce, so I thought it appropriate to head for the bookshelf and dust off the volume for the auspicious occasion of the launch of PLDesignLine. What could I snag from within to wow my potential readers? I looked up dozens of words and finally settled on the one word that defines my role on this site:
Editor, n. Master of mysteries and lord of law, high-pinnacled upon the throne of thought, his (her) face suffused with the dim splendors of the Transfiguration, his (her) legs intertwisted and his (her) tongue a-cheek, the editor spills his (her) will along the paper and cuts it off in lengths to suit. And at intervals from behind the veil of the temple is heard the voice of the foreman (we all have bosses) demanding three inches of wit and six lines of religious meditation, or bidding him (her) turn off the wisdom and whack up some pathos.
In truth, my goal is to build an arena where you come to give and get great input on design challenges, find products and resources that make your life easier and sometimes, just a place to vent. It's your wisdom I'm looking to tap. The door's open.
