In the not-so-distant past, the company names "Daisy, Mentor, and Valid" went together like "Larry, Curly, and Moe!"
Good Grief! Doesn’t time go fast when you're having fun? Last Friday (3 days ago as I pen these words) I was visiting some friends at the local Mentor office here in Huntsville, Alabama. While ambling around I saw a jolly colorful poster on the wall saying "Join us to Celebrate 25 Years of Innovation!"
Unfortunately the celebration in question was held the evening before I got there, but it was still interesting to pause and ponder. Once upon a time, the company names "Daisy, Mentor, and Valid" went together like "Larry, Curly, and Moe!" (I'm not saying that these companies were in any way like the three stooges, just that you always thought of them together in the same breath.)
Can it really be 25 years since modern EDA as we know it today (CAE and CAD as we thought about it then) came to be? Wow! Well, it's certainly been an exciting ride, and who knows what the future will hold. I for one am waiting with bated breath. In the meantime, congratulations to all the folks at Mentor who made the company what it is today!
