You've got to hand it to those little rapscallions at Mentor Graphics, because they keep on coming up with some really cool ideas. Not so long ago they sponsored a series of seminars by the British physicist Stephen Hawking on the origin of the universe, and I was fortunate enough to be invited to one of these little scamps in California.
Now, I just heard that Mentor are hosting a special a special luncheon event – Busting the Myths of Verification – at this year's DAC. This event is to be held in room 102 at the Moscone Center on Tuesday, July 25, 2006 from noon until 1:30 pm PST (doors open at 11:30 am). The cool thing about this (in addition to the free lunch, of course) is that Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman from the television program The MythBusters will join Tom Fitzpatrick, verification technologist of Mentor's Design Verification and Test division, to share their methodology for analyzing a myth and determining its plausibility – or busting it.
Advanced registration is required due to limited capacity (I already registered before telling you about it, because I wanted to make sure to get a seat up-front). You can Register Online at Mentor's website.
