This is an oldie but goodie. You've probably seen this site before, but if not then I think you'll find it to be of interest. As the BritneySpears.ac/Lasers.htm page says:
It is a little known fact, that Ms Spears is an expert in semiconductor physics. Not content with just singing and acting, in the following pages, she will guide you in the fundamentals of the vital laser components that have made it possible to hear her super music in a digital format.
This is actually a very interesting site. I would recommend starting right at the beginning with the introduction where we learn that Britney Spears is not the first star to juggle the weight of fame and a gift for technical matters. For example, Austrian born film star Hedy Lamarr (of the 1930 and 40s) was also a gifted electrical engineer who proposed a frequency-hopping control system for torpedoes that was way ahead of its time. Who would have "thunk" it?
