That solution by suman works out for an even depth, how about for an odd depth?

For 10 words, Start the counter value from 0010 then we will have the sequence. 0010, 0110,0111,0101,0100,1100,1101,1111,1110, 1010. Note the single bit transition from 0010->1010.
