I just wandered next door into the office of my business partner (Dean) for no other reason than to make fun of his hair, because he'd just returned from having it cut. This of course opens the door to such merry quips as: "Doesn't your barber like you?" and "When are you going back to have it finished?"
I know this isn't "high humor" – give me a break – it's Friday – it's been a long week – and you have to take your fun where you can find it.
Anyway, I don't know how we managed to meander our way from his hair-raising experience into this topic, but Dean just informed me that the "Quack" of a duck is the only natural phenomena that does not produce an echo. He also told me that "they don't know why,", but he didn't explain just who "they" are.
Hmmm . . . this is jolly interesting (although I can't explain why) and I'm sure that having this tantalizing tidbit of knowledge at my fingertips will come in useful one day – perhaps as the answer to the "Million Dollar Question" on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" – I DO! – but is it true? Have you heard anything about this? If so, do not delay, please enlighten me immediately (if not sooner).
