Now, here's something you don't get to see every day...
Our old chum Jay Dowling just sent me a link to a video on the BBC website showing a Banjo used in brain surgery.
It seems that a musician – Eddie Adcock – with a hand tremor underwent surgery to implant electrodes in his brain. A small current applied to these electrodes prevents the tremors.
This video shows Eddie playing the banjo while the surgeons worked inside his head (this sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it).
All I can say is (a) modern medicine is truly incredible and (b) my thoughts and best wishes go out to Eddie.
