The editor of Planet Analog, Bill Schweber, recently recommended Michael Caine's autobiography, What's It All About? to me (I immediately ordered a second-hand copy from Amazon).
In response, I recommended one of my favorites – David Niven's autobiography, The Moon's a Balloon.
Bill emailed me back saying: "Great mind's think alike – I have that one also."
This set me to thinking how these old sayings often come in opposing pairs. For example, when someone says "Great mind's think alike", I immediately respond (at least in my head) "But fools seldom differ."
Similarly, we have "Many hands make light work," which is complemented by "Too many cooks spoil the broth."
And then I ground to a halt... I used to know a lot of these opposing sayings, but for some reason my mind's a blank... so if you think of any please drop me a line to refresh my memory.
But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about. Someone just pointed me at a rather cool 3D Web Cam that allows you to take 3D pictures and videos. In fact, if you're using a messaging program like Windows Live Messenger, Skype, AOL Instant Messenger, or OoVoo, then your friends and family can now view you in 3D!
