Well, it seems that my "My Cup Runneth Over" on the bacon front, and it's not often you'll hear me say that.
I just heard some hot (and crispy) news, which follows close on the heels of my recent triumph with regard to having bacon served at the Internet of Things talk I will be hosting at Design West (see Max is on the bacon train … and it’s not slowing down!).
The mega cool guys and gals at UBM Tech are going to have a booth, which will be located in the main foyer to the conference center (not in the exhibition area where the other booths are located). All sorts of mega-cool things will be going on at this booth throughout the week at this booth, including a variety of "meet and greets" and book signings and a bunch of other "happenings" (this booth will be "the place to be and be seen").
As one small example, at 3:00pm on Tuesday afternoon, yours truly will be holding forth to anyone who cares to listen about the way in which our CapNet wireless networked propeller beanie project was first conceived and subsequently evolved into the awe-inspiring beast it is today.
But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about…
I just heard that the little scamps from UBM Tech are going to be – in their own words -- "Highlighting bacon and beer!"
I'm sorry… you'll have to forgive me… I'm a little overcome with emotion… seeing two of my favorite things in the whole wide world being recognized in this way… just give me a moment to catch my breath and wipe away the tears (of joy).
OK, I'm back… on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00pm at the UBM Tech booth, the little scamps from UBM Tech will be highlighting bacon and beer along with a meet-and-greet-and-book-signing with Bob Dobkin. Then, on Wednesday from 4:00 to 5:30pm, they will be featuring bacon and beer while – at the same time – promoting an electronic art exhibit.
On both occasions there will be an internationally recognized BACON CHEF performing the honors. I already love him like the brother I never had. (Of course I do have a brother, and I wouldn’t trade him for the world … but this bacon chef is like the brother I don't have.)
Now, if you live anywhere in the vicinity of Silicon Valley and – for some unaccountable reason – you still haven’t signed up for your Free Expo Pass, surely there can be no further doubt in your mind. What we're talking about here is a conference that features technology sufficient to make even the most techno of techno-weenies drool with desire coupled with bacon and beer (now I'm drooling with desire).
So I hope to see you there. I'll be easy to recognize. I'll be the one sporting a bright Hawaiian shirt and a wireless networked propeller beanie clutching a fistful of crispy bacon and quaffing more than my fair share of beer!
