RF & Microwave Designline Blog
As the kids prepare to go back to school, you can bet that faculty meetings are taking place where teachers are debating the finer points of catching today's cheaters. While we take great pride in the latest RF devices that enable communications at lower and lower costs with higher functionality, sometimes there can be some "collateral damage."
For instance, how about the student who is so good at "texting" that he can text with his phone in his pocket to get the answers to a test? Long gone are the days when all teachers had to worry about was the paper up the sleeve or the writing on the shoe. Cheating has definitely gone hi-tech. And it is silent.
Oh, and a run of the mill cell phone can make matters even more complicated for teachers. I was just reading on Yahoo news yesterday about the latest concern: being video taped with a cell phone while teaching. At any moment, a teacher's oddest tick or mis-spoken response can be taped and popped up on a site like You Tube.
It's been at least 10 years since I've been standing up in front of a class. I thought it was tough enough then. My hat's off to teachers of today.
