So are you ready for the biggest mobile industry wireless event on the old continent? The buzz at least in the test and measurement space is who are the first ones on the market supporting LTE-Advanced, the Release 10 of the 3GPP standard, the evolution of the Long-Term Evolution, 4G and beyond. This is critical to first to market success for anyone serious in this industry. You got to have the full suite of design simulation software, vector signal generators (baseband and RF) and vector signal analysis software that can help you “the early adopters” to shape the future of the first street ready devices implementing LTE today AND prepared for what’s next.
Just a quick reminder for the people not so familiar with LTE, Long-Term Evolution of the 3GPP Standard, Release 8. It is all about flexible channel bandwidth from 1.4MHz up to 20MHz, flexible modulation scheme with OFDM for the downlink and SC-FDMA for the uplink and implementation of MIMO with peak data rates reaching 172.8Mbps on the downlink in a 2x2 configuration. Let’s go wider, faster, bigger… LTE-Advanced takes LTE to the next level with Release 10: carrier aggregation to reach up to 100MHz of channel bandwidth, enhanced uplink called clustered SC-FDMA and higher order MIMO going up to 8x8 on the downlink! And this is just the beginning…
Can’t wait to get to Barcelona and check out those cool next generation mobile stuff. What will my next new toy be? If you get a chance come see me I’ll be hanging out at the Agilent Technologies booth (Hall 1 – Stand A46) .
Hope to see you in Barcelona as I’ll be there for the whole duration of this event, and will be blogging on the sights, sounds, and new technology being launched at Mobile World Congress.
