Termination with parallel RC circuits eliminate the need of addtional power supply for power saving and could be more efficient. In comparative analysis of linear vs switch supply some assumption were taken w/o specifc considreaations that cause not correct and full results depending on implementation: - use switcher suplly with high switching frequency: loo bandwidth would be significabtluy higher; high frequency transient peak cuurent would be handle by power supply output and bypass capacitors - application data processing by DDR equalizes average current drain during interval times - linear supply has to be used for voltage input comparable with output voltage (few hundreds mV above as LDO) in order to receive efficiency 70-80% but not 50% and low dissipation; if you need 1.5V output use 1.8V input from switch regulator but not 3.0 V directly for 3.0A load!!
