@David Ashton, my thoughts exactly; way too much time on their hands!  Bad enough I'm on here replying instead of doing actual work!

@Max I'll try and get it done by Friday.  Oh, wait, the only person who got all his work done by Friday was Robinson Crusoe.....

That dude get's the prize for Dad of The Year, for sure.  Although I could probably pull it off, I wouldn't waste my time.  After a perfunctory "Thanks dad", my kid would shrug at the console and run off with the iPad.

Jobs one, me zero.

@C VanDorne: I was nearly there while watching the video.

This really is very well done. Did you see my blog Dad Builds Mission Control Console for Young Son? If I'd had this console when I was 8...9...10, I'd probably still be sitting in front of it :-)

I was nearly there while watching the video.  Luckily, someone walked into the lab and interrupted me or I'd be in space right now.  Or maybe I really am...

Forget about them -- if I had this I'd hypnotize myself LOL

@C VanDorne: ...did you see him accidently turn off the LEDs about half way into the video?

I missed that (as usual I was doing several things at the same time)

Max, here is another suggestion, which, if its burried in this trail, I apologize.  But did you see him accidently turn off the LEDs about half way into the video?  I thought I did so my recommendation is to place that control button off to the side somewhere.  That way when you've just about got all of your friends and neighbors hypnotized into sending you monthly checks, you don't abruptly end their impending bliss, putting them into week long "Office Space" like daze.

@Neill Arnell: Didn't think you'd need classes to teach you how to drink. :-)

I'm a very humble person and I believe there's always something more that I can learn :-)
