@David: ...J. Peasemould Gruntfuttock, and it's from "Round the Horne" an old BBC radio comedy show.

It's sad that these old radio shows will probably never again find an audience -- they live on only in our memories and will fade away over time.

Did you ever see the old TV sitcoms "All Gas and Gaiters" and "Oh Brother" with Derek Nimmo -- or how about "Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width" -- once again, I don't thing these will ever come back -- they don't have the same mass appeal as "Benny Hill" or "Are You Being Served?"

@Max... "so I'll just have to flap myself with my own bladder...."

Reminded me of something that might have been from the goon show, but I have a feeling it's not:

A: Allow me to introduce Mr. Wallace Gruntfuttock.  He comes from a long line of Gruntfuttocks.  His great-grandfather was chief Gruntfuttock to King Charles III!"

B: "That's strange, I always thought Charles III Grunted his own Futtocks..."

PS... had time to google it.  It's J. Peasemould Gruntfuttock, and it's from "Round the Horne" an old BBC radio comedy show.

@Wnderer: Employee of the Month has to buy the bagels.

I will be happy to provide bagels with cream cheese and a choice of lox or bacon to any member of the EE Times community who cares to visit my office -- I can't say fairer than that :-)

@max: ".... you taught Physical Education..." Max, I didn't even TAKE Phys Ed in high school! I got out of it one day at a time; the electrical shop teacher, who was the advisor for the stage crew of which I was a member, wrote a note for me every single day for years excusing me from gym to do stage crew work!

@max: "Don't try this at home unless you're a professional!" So are you saying it's better to do it in public than at home? I was a PE for 30+ years; does that qualify me as a "professional"?

@zeeglen: I seem to recall these were also called "party snakes"...

That may well be the case -- but I'll let you be the one to stand up in a crowd and shout "Does any one want to play with my party snake?"

@max: "... I'll just have to flap myself with my own bladder" Is that allowed (for posting) by the UBM Terms of Service? Also, it seems that this actitvity might require the services of a medical professional, and likely it is not allowed under Obamacare.....
