@mosspp: "I wish that I knew what I know now When I was younger."

Ain't that the truth. I always liked the one that goes "If youth knew; if age could."

The thing is that you know that if you tell younger people anything it will go in one ear and out the other ... just like it did when we were young and our elders were trying to pass on the secrets of life, the universe, and everything to us.

On the bright side, we also know that one day they will get to be our age and they'll say something like "My goodness, Max wasn't as stupid as he looked (but there again, who could be?)" LOL

@Max:  prophecies and hindsight . . .

One of my favorites from "Ooh La La" (Faces):

"I wish that I knew what I know now
When I was younger."

@GoFor: ...my younger sister got me a silly "Old Fa&t" hat with insulting buttons and pins on it...

She obviously loves you (maybe she thought this was a step up from what you usually wear LOL)

No, but my younger sister got me a silly "Old Fa&t" hat with insulting buttons and pins on it.  With a walking cane to complete the "look."

Can't remember a comments section longer than this thread in the past.  Age must be dam*ed interesting or everybody suffers from it I suspose.

Max, you young whipper snapper,  just wait until you pass 70.  Sixty is going to look (and feel) like fourty then for sure.  Been there, done that! :-(

@MeasurtementBlues: ...if 60 is the new 40, then expect to work for another 28 years.

Even if 60 is the old 60, I think I'll be working for at least another 28 years (said Max, sadly)

"It's raining drongos" -- hey, that would be a good name for a song LOL

@Max... "when I see some young drongo being an obnoxious plonker....."

And there are so many of them these days, aren't there?  Even if you have the will to stop your kid becoming one, societal pressures may push him (or her) that way.  I don't envy people becoming new parents these days.....
