Kudos to the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) for working so hard this year. Doubling the number of implementation agreements (IAs) already approved in 2005, it just approved three more. Two relate to the security extension UNI and NNI and security for management interfaces to Network Elements. The IAs ensure security protocols can be used with IPv6 as well as IPv4.
The third updates a MSA for Integratable Tunable Laser Assembly (ITLA), and focuses on standardization of a CW laser subassembly for integration into transponders.
The prolific group finished six IAs this year but also started several more including a 25G Common Electrical I/O neighbor discovery and a TDM Fabric to Framer Interface (TFI).
These and all other OIF IAs are available for public viewing at OIForum.
