So last week I announced a new series on Network Systems DesignLine, the publishing of excerpts of recently published books.
The first book in the series is Designing Content Switching Solutions, 2006, by Zeeshan Naseh and Haroon Khan, reproduced by permission of Pearson Education, Inc. 800 East 96th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46240. The chapter selected is Chapter 4. Layer 7 Load Balancing and Content Customization. See Part I.
In addition, the authors were kind enough to allow me to interview them sharing an overview of the book, why they wrote it, what's contained, and what you can expect to gain by reading it.
Please review Part I, which includes the benefits of Layer 7 Load Balancing and an in-depth introduction to TCP. The next installment, Part II will give an equally comprehensive overview of HTTP. The final excerpt, Part III covers Layer 7 Load Balancing Mechanisms and Test and Verification.
So here's the deal--I'd like your input as to whether or not you find this reprint valuable. If you email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org and give me 50 words on 1) what you enjoyed (or not) about the excerpt or 2) the concept of publishing excerpts and what topics you'd like to see covered, I will enter your name into a drawing for a copy of the volume.
The winner's name will be published in the Network System DesignLine June 1 newsletter which can be accessed at subscribe to newsletter.
