I'm moving from one mountain community to another. The areas I choose to live sort of resemble Ricola commercials. We tend to pace with our cell phones. 'Can you hear me now?' is not so much a commercial, but a daily conversation. My current carrier, Cingular Wireless does not offer the best service where I'm moving to, even though it does pretty well where I currently live. I am, however, under contract that runs another year--hmmmm.
Today, Verizon Wireless announced that it would prorate its early termination fees beginning this fall. Come on Cingular, lighten up.
Addressing what is a top customer complaint--rightfully so--Verizon is the first to lessen its exit fee. According to Linda Barrabee, Yankee Group analyst, it isn't expected that the move would cost the company customers, but might shame rivals into similar programs.
I for one vote that Cingular do the same.
