An AP report came out today that the University of Tokyo is exploring the ability for robots to learn to serve tea. Tea? On wheels, sensors flashing, and camera eyes lit, robots are pouring and serving tea. Imagine.
Although the University cites the potential for robots to do much take care of Japan's elderly, sick, and bedridden, that seems pretty risky to me. Doesn't that bring up a potential fiasco--can you envision an elderly person trying to deal with a robot? Me, I'd use it to create HTML code, or size graphics for this site. Or, let's see, cool, edit a few articles
There is an upside, however. The tea-pouring humanoid, according to the university, knows how to do dishes. Okay, send it over.
