I made it to Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), but it wasn't easy. With the snow coming down pretty hard in NJ, I decided to get to the airport early and try to get an earlier flight, knowing that I had to make a connection in Cleveland. Sure enough, the flight I was originally supposed to be on was delayed, so making the connection was out of the question, and spending the night in Cleveland was looking more like a reality.
Thankfully, I got one of the last seats on the earlier Cleveland-bound flight and made my connection to Vegas. By the time I got the hotel, it was around 12:30 AM Vegas time. Ouch!
Now it's Wednesday, the day before the show officially opens. This is the calm before the storm: press room buzzing, people shaking the sleeplessness out of the systems, exhibits still going up, etc.
I use this day to get the lay of the land, as they say; map out my strategy, get my ducks in a row for the next few days of chaos.
On the technology front, it looks like this may be another show where digital TV hogs the spotlight. I should know for sure by the end of the day, so check back.
