The CTIA has always been all about cellular technology, as the name implies.
Being the jet-setter that I am (yeah, right), I hopped on a plane and went from the Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose to the CTIA show in Las Vegas. CTIA stands for Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association.
For all the years I've attended this event, it's been all about cellular technology, as the name implies. This year, there's a little bit of a different feel. For example, my first three meetings today all were about something other than cellular technology. The first was about WiMAX, the second about Wi-Fi, and the third was about flash storage.
It may just be a coincidence, as that's how my meetings arranged themselves. And all the cellular big guys are here. But it certainly struck me as odd that my discussions all started down a completely different path from cellular.
I've got a full schedule tomorrow, so check back and see if I get back on the cellular track.
