Did you know that according to the Tokyo police more than 1,800 people were arrested for groping passengers in Tokyo in 2005? Me neither. To fight back an increasing number of women trying to protect themselves are downloading "Anti-Groping Appli" by Takahashi. The application flashes messages that the victim can hold up for the offender to see. The messages include: "Excuse me, did you just grope me?" "Groping is a crime," and finally, "Shall we head to the police?"
I understand that a warning chime accompanies the messages. I think it should go one step further and just speak--no yell--the messages. I'll bet that would stop the alleged offender in their tracks.
