Beginning July 23, the bitter feud between Nokia and Qualcomm will come to an office (or living room) near you. The proceedings, regarding their patent and licensing fight, will be aired by Courtroom View Network via Webcast. Oh, maybe you can get a group together to defray the $400 charge.
This has been going on so long you might not remember why the argument started. It seems that Nokia, under a 1992 licensing agreement, was able to use Qualcomm's patents in handsets. This license expired in Q2 2007. The companies disagree as to whether or not the agreement was extended. Nokia says no, and you can imagine that an aye is the position of Qualcomm.
This is only the tip of the proverbial ice burg as five more lawsuits are waiting in the wings.
So, if you're buying the program and live in the Bay Area, let me know. I'll bring that popcorn.
