In a December newsletter published by Forward Concepts, Will Strauss equates October semi shipment numbers released this weekend with the market drop of the 1929 Black Friday. Numbers were the lowest this year since January, until now the worst month of 2008. Regarding DSP numbers, October represents the worst month in 208, with revenues down 29% from September, and 21.4% year-to-year from 2007. China posted a drop of 42%, while Japan gained 16.8% in DSP revenues. Cell phone DSP showed the most erosion.
