EDA DesignLine, with the collaboration of Gary Smith, has launched a reference tool that you can find at the top of the Product Center section of the portal.
From time to time, it is nice to talk to someone you believe is neutral or unbiased, and thus more objective than most, when faced with a decision about a issue new to you. You should consider the editors of the DesignLine family of portals as a resource you can count on. The sites not only deal with EDA tools and news, like this one, but also with a number of application areas that span the entire universe of electronics design. We and the people at CMP work every day to improve the quality of service we provide to designers, executives, purchasing agents, marketing professionals, and everyone else involved in the electronics industry.
Therefore, to provide as unobtrusive yet effective help as possible, EDA DesignLine has launched a reference tool that you can find at the top of the Product Center section of the portal. I would like to thank Gary Smith of Gary Smith EDA for allowing me, and thus CMP, to publish his EDA Wallcharts.
Everyone who needs to know is likely to be familiar with the offering of Cadence, Magma, Mentor, or Synopsys. But what about the rest of the EDA vendors? If you are interested in learning which company serves which market segment or application area, where can you look? Of course you can attend one of the leading periodic conferences and exhibitions our industry offers, but in times when days, not months, make a difference between success and failure in a particular market, you need the answer immediately.
Thanks to the collaboration with Gary, you now have a way to quickly and simply find out. The charts do not overwhelm you with information: they give you the tools to research in your own way and with your own methods. Given a company name Google will get you to their website 100% of the times. No ambiguity, no false threads, no superfluous data.
Of course a static list in a dynamic industry, such as EDA, is bound to be obsolete almost immediately after publication. Thanks to electronic publishing, updates can be made quickly and reliably. I therefore, pledge to you that EDA DesignLine will work to find ways to provide you with the most up-to-date information possible and ask you to for help. If you have new information that belongs in the Wallcharts, please let me know. You can reach me Gabe Moretti quite easily.
