Synopsys' Aart DeGeuss could not pass up adding analog IP to his intellectual property stable that has revenues reported to be $100 million.
The same day that Synopsys announced its acquisition of MIPS' Analog Business Group (ABG) for $22M in cash, Harry the ASIC guy had lunch with a former colleague at Synopsys.
At some point, the discussion got around to Aart DeGeus and his leadership qualities. The colleague, who plays bass guitar with Aart on occasion, shared with Harry his observations of Synopsys' CEO outside of work. "He's a born leader, even when he's playing music."
Maybe that's why Aart could not pass up adding analog IP to his IP stable with revenues reported to be $100 million.
