Instead of creating an OS wrapper, Why dont FB fork android and create a version for themselves, like what Amazon did.

Now that facebook is a public entity on the stock exchange, their vision of the future has been replaced by dollar signs. To them, it made more sense to sell the phone as an extension of the product as opposed to the current methodology of giving away the product for free.
